Our company

Farston Energy Ltd is the culmination of a long term cooperation between a group of highly experienced and skilled professionals in the Alternative Energy, Project Finance and Asset Management sectors.

This combination of skills enables us to assist experienced investors to identify and/or vet viable energy assets and manage their work-out or development and eventual operation.

Our primary focus is on the Alternative Energy sector, namely:

  • Clean Energy (principally biomass and biofuels);
  • Waste remediation and management;
  • Energy Efficiency (especially district heating solutions);
  • Providing ‘Off-grid’ energy generation capability to private end users;
  • Growing and processing Biocrops
    for sale as fuel.

The synergy of our highly entrepreneurial approach and technical know-how gives us a unique position and perspective in this sector.

We have the experience and ability to engage with a wide spectrum of sponsors of opportunities from financial institutions to private individuals.

Our Strategy

Our core strategies are as follows:

  • Acquiring (on behalf of our funding partners) distressed alternative energy assets in carefully selected countries, where the original technology was overly expensive and the funding costs too high. We will restructure those assets and upgrade selectively where necessary utilizing state and/or independent grant funding sources where possible and sell energy to local Network Operators.
  • Working with central and local governments to rehabilitate ageing assets and enter into long term Energy Purchase Agreements (EPAs) which are usually backed by the respective government itself.
  • Developing (with carefully selected partners) new alternative energy assets in developing countries with long term input contracts and Energy Purchase Agreements (EPAs) with Network Operators, Private end users (typically large industrial companies), or supply agreements for bi-products, recyclates and/or fuels.
  • Acquire marginal land for the growing and develop facilities for processing of Biocrops for use as input fuels (feedstock) for other operators of energy generation facilities and in some cases to vertically integrate with the operation of other assets being managed by Farston Energy.
